Getting
There
Pattaya is easily
accessible from Bangkok by car taking only two hours along
Bangna - Trad Highway via Bangna, Bang Pakong, Chonburi and
Sri Racha.
Eastern Bus Station
at Sukhumvit Soi 63 (Ekamai Tel. 0-2391-2504) has air - conditioned
coaches leaving Bangkok every half an hour from 05:00 a.m.
to 11:00 p.m. and returning from Pattaya every half an hour
from 05:00 a.m. to 09:00 p.m. / 90.- Baht one way per person.
Northern Bus
Terminal at Khampangpet 2 Rd., (Mor Chit Tel. 0-2936-2856-66)
has air - conditioned coaches leaving Bangkok every half an
hour (same as the Eastern Bus Station) 97.- Baht one way per
person.
Transportation in and
around Pattaya
In Town :
No public buses in the beach area, but there are minibuses
(song-thaeo) plying the major routes. They can stop as requested.
The normal fare is approx. 5.- Baht. To a farther place out
of the beach area, the fare is approx. 30.- Baht up or as
agreed upon.
To Islands
: Fishing boats can be rented along the water front.
The fares vary from 500 - 1,000.- Baht for a trip to nearby
islands and from 1,500.- to 2,000.- Baht or over for a farther
distance.
Motorbikes,
Bicycles and Car : can be hired at a car rent company
or a stand on the beach.

Health & Tax
A compulsory vaccination
of yellow fever is required if arriving from an infected area.
Exempt are infants under 1 year. The major health risk is
malaria, which exists all year in rural areas throughout the
country. There is no risk in cities and the main tourist resorts
such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket, and Samui. Rabies
is also a risk.
